Ireneusz Bil, PhD is the current director of Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s Amicus Europae Foundation. The Foundation is active in the area of foreign policy and security, focusing on the Eastern Neighborhood of the European Union. Dr. Bil also serves as secretary general of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, an NGO based in Brussels. Prior to holding these positions, he worked as director of the Office of International Affairs of the Presidential Chancellery from 2004 to 2006 and as an expert on the National Security Bureau from 1997 to 2004. He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (WSE) and the National Security Studies Program at Warsaw University, and received his doctoral degree researching energy supply security at the WSE. His interests include energy policy, international security, military and defense issues.
