After studying mathematics and physics, Isabelle Moretti did a PhD in earth sciences at the Paris XI University and was appointed as visiting scientist in Cornell Un. (Ithaca-USA) and MIT (Cambridge_USA). She joined the applied research institute IFPen (Rueil) where she developed concepts and software related to the deformation of the continental crust and basin modeling. From 1986 to 2012 she intersected her years of R&D at the O&G companies such as TOTAL (Paris), YPFB (Santa Cruz-Bolivia) and Cepsa (Madrid-Spain). In the early 2000’s, she led large European research projects aiming to understand earthquake nucleation. In 2012 she joined the exploration group of GDFSUEZepi as expert in geology and unconventional gas. She became the technology director within the R&T coorp. of ENGIE in 2016 and is so now in charge of the choice of the technologies related to the new energy mix (Renewable energy, biogas, solar, wind, H2, Energy efficiency, enabling technologies, IoT…). Moretti was elected GERG (Groupement Européen de Recherche sur le Gaz) president in 2017, and is also member of the EVOLEN and IERE Boards. She is regularly teaching in universities worldwide, evaluated research projects for the French National Research Agency (ANR) and is co-author of more than 110 peer reviewed international publications.
